From September 20th The Interislander is operating with reduced capacity which will cause delays to North Island deliveries.

$15 a loaf? REALLY?

Yes, we know it's a lot for a loaf of bread.

We pride ourselves on making high quality food which is as affordable as it can be. We use the best ingredients we can find, always organic certified or grown organically - you can read more of that here   Whilst organic farming does lead to a higher priced end product we try really hard to keep the premium to a minimum.

Over the past couple of years we have received more and more requests for a Keto, Paleo or Low Carb bread. Having priced the ingredients we thought it would be too expensive so put it to one side.

However, we kept it on the drawing board and played around with various recipes and ingredients until we hit gold, our Miracle Bread! It was so good we thought we had to go with it. We priced it and the very best we can get to is $15. That's with our usual high quality ingredients and slender margin. You can only buy it here on the website, at our Bakery in Sydenham or at the Nelson Saturday Market.

We did some market research to see if the price was viable and were pleasantly surprised at the positive comments. The loaf makes 14 good slices, so it's a whole weeks breakfast or lunches, or it can be sliced and frozen. As someone pointed out to us, it's $2 a day, less than the coffee they pick up mid morning...
